Leaf season is coming — how do locals handle the downtown crowds?

Newer folks: come October, downtown and 515 fill up with leaf-lookers and it's bumper to bumper on weekends. What are everyone's tricks for getting around (and keeping a good attitude about it)?

Run your errands midweek or early. Saturdays in October, downtown parking is a contact sport. The visitors are paying our bills though, so deep breath and wave folks across.

Back roads and the bypass save your sanity. And if you want to actually enjoy the railway or Mercier in October, go on a weekday.

Ha, noted. We'll get our Mercier fried pies on a Tuesday.
