Fannin County schools close Monday, switch to virtual learning Tuesday
Fannin County Schools says students are out Monday, Oct. 26, and will learn from home Tuesday, Oct. 27, while teachers spend both days in professional learning.

What changes for families
Fannin County Schools says students have no school Monday, Oct. 26, and a virtual learning day Tuesday, Oct. 27. The district says teachers will be in professional learning both days, so families should plan for a break in the normal school routine Monday and at-home learning Tuesday.

Virtual learning day for students
What students should expect
The district said assignments and instructions would be sent home in advance so families can prepare. On the virtual day, students will work on teacher-created assignments from home, and the day will not include live, face-to-face instruction. The virtual-learning page says assignments are due no later than three days after students return.
Why this is on the calendar
This is not a one-off arrangement. The school system says it has two scheduled Student Virtual Learning Days for 2026-27, and Oct. 27 is one of them.
